OpenHands

OpenHands

OpenHands (formerly OpenDevin) is an open-source agent platform. You can run an agent against a repo in Docker, with a model you choose. The software is free. You pay for compute and the model.

6.7

Preliminary

Editorial score out of 10. Not a benchmark.

What we tried

Read the Docker setup and ran a short task against a sample repo. Getting the sandbox up is the real first step. Not a scored evaluation.

Scores are preliminary editorial notes from a short hands-on pass. They are not benchmark results, not pass rates, and not for sale. A shared task suite is not published yet, so we do not print speed, cost, or success-rate figures.

Preliminary notes

  • Setup5/10
  • Editing6/10
  • Agent work8/10
  • Docs and control7/10

Good fit

  • Teams that want an agent they can self-host
  • People experimenting with agent harnesses

Limits

  • Setup is heavier than installing an editor
  • You operate the sandbox, the model key, and the bill
